Bon jour! Paris is the capital and the most populated city of France with over 2,21 million residents. The city is quite large and spreads over an area of 105 km² (41 sq miles). The city has 20 suburbs and has always been one of the most visited cities in the world. On top, the city is a home of hundreds of theatres and various museums. There are 37 bridges is in the city. You should definitely visit the following most popular bridges: Pont Alexandre III, Pont Neuf, Le Pont de Bir-Hakeim, Pont des Arts or Pont de l'Archeveche. The city itself is quite flat and its highest point is Montmartre that has the height of 130 m (426 ft). It offers gorgeous view of the city. Paris is also a home of the 2024 Summer Olympics. Paris as the centre of the Paris Region has a total population over 12 million inhabitants. Paris is divided by the river Seine into left and right bank. While in Paris, you should definitively take one of the many cruises on the river Seine or dine in one of the many restaurants or grab a coffee in a local coffee shop. If you have children, you should also consider a trip to Disneyland Paris. Paris is also a very busy centre as far as the transport is concerned. The city has three international airports Paris–Charles de Gaulle and Paris–Orly and Beauvais that is used by budget airlines. The Paris metro system was opened back in 1900. The metro system has a total of 16 lines and totally 308 stations. If you plan to visit Paris you hould definitely visit the following places: firstly, you must go to the Eiffel Tower that was constructed for the Paris Universal Exposition of 1889. The building height is 324 m (1063 feet) and you can either take the staircase up or a lift that is far more comfortable. Talking about the museums, you should firstly go to to the Louvre museum where you can enjoy the picture of Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. On top, visit Pompidou Centre housing collections of modern art. Another ones include The Musee Picasso or Musee Rodin. You can also take a peek at the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris that is under renovation due to the fire couple years ago. Further, do not forget to go to the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, constructed for the Paris Universal Exposition of 1900. Also go to the top of the Arc de Triomphe on the Champs-Elysees – the most luxurious boulevard in Paris and the hill of Montmartre that is a home of shops or restaurants. On top, enjoy the white Basilica of Sacre-Coeur with panoramic view of the city. Another important tip is Les Invalides, where you can see the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. Furhermore, spend some time at Place de la Concorde or take a metro to Grande Arche of La Defense, the financial centre of the city. On top, I also recommend to go up to the top of Tour Montparnasse offering wonderful views of Paris. If you like movies, there were numerous movies shot and set in Paris, from my favourite ones you should watch The Da Vinci Code, The Bourne Identity or Mission Impossible: Fallout.
